Testimonials from Clients

Ikechi recorded saxophone on one of my tracks a few years back and absolutely killed it. He was able to match the vibe perfectly and improvise a great performance for me to weave into the song effortlessly.

Ikechi was very disciplined and played his saxophone along with various different genres of music that a DJ was playing. From hip hop, to electronic music, to Dance and Rnb - Ikechi was able to play along and also have remarkable solo performances as well.

We first met through an interview I was conducting with 98.5FM at the MCCP Hip Hop Jazz festival. I saw the professionalism and soon later witnessed the talents on stage. I’ve booked him for events of my own since then and he has always delivered.

Ikechi Onyenaka and his jazz band performed at my Grandfather’s Celebration of Life last Saturday. Their performance was better than I could imagine. From the incredible & vast song selection to the extraordinary skill each musician showed. They were the highlight of the day and my grandfather would’ve loved to hear them play! The music they played filled the room with such joy and high spirits. They honored my grandfather’s life the right way and it was beautiful to see it. By the end of the event they received so much praise and everyone wanted to hire them for their next event. I know for sure I will be hiring them for my next major event that I host. To Ikechi and his band, thank you so much for putting on such an amazing show in honor of my grandfather, it made the day perfect!

Ikechi played exceptionally well at my Birthday event. He was punctual, friendly to my guests, and listened to ALL of my directions. His musical talent with the saxophone truly added a special touch to my birthday celebration and I received many compliments from my guests. I highly recommend Ikechi for any musical entertainment needs.

Ikechi’s sound was brilliant and celebratory. He jammed effortlessly with the other musicians and filled the vast space of Cherry Street Pier with his energy and spirit. We loved it. It definitely amped up our event and made people smile.
— Jeffrey Harlan, Dreamline Founder & Program Director
The music coming from your saxophone was like someone singing with passion and integrity. I know it is no easy task to perform on a rolling structure (a parade float), but I heard many amazing comments from spectators along the route that thought you knocked it out of the park
— Todd Marcocci, Producer - Salute To Independence Parade
I had the extreme pleasure of helping coordinate Ikechi Onyenaka’s performance of the national anthem as part of Franklin University’s Jan. 5, 2025, commencement ceremony. His pre-event and day of collaboration to ensure a smooth and successful performance were incredibly professional and helped deliver a moving performance. In fact, his performance was so moving that the entire auditorium erupted into applause at the conclusion of his performance. He definitely created a memorable component to the ceremony.
— Sherry Mercurio, Ed.D. (’22) Executive Director, Office of Community Relations Franklin University
Ikechi was the perfect musical addition at our birthday dinner! From the moment he started playing, he set the tone for an unforgettable night. His talent is absolutely undeniable and added so much life to our event. Beyond the music, he was an absolute professional: punctual, communicative, and incredibly accommodating. He even provided us with a microphone, helped capture moments with photos, and stayed an extra hour beyond our agreed timeframe just to keep the party going and ensure our guest had a fabulous time. He didn’t just perform; he became part of the celebration. If you’re looking to add something truly special to your event, Ikechi is the ONE! I can’t wait to book him again!

The NAMM Show 2022- Neotech Recap

In addition to meeting some of our dealers and distributors, we also had the wonderful opportunity to meet some of our Neotech ambassadors including, Ukulenny (Lenny San Jose), Ikechi Onyenaka, and Phillip Morin. We had the pleasure of sharing a meal with them and to hear them beautifully play their instruments in our Neotech booth. Throughout the course of the show, these three insanely talented musicians would come by to play their music for us, causing quite a stir with surrounding NAMM attendees and exhibitors who were in complete awe. Sometimes, we coordinated and had the blessing of hearing them play together. It was one of our NAMM highlights for sure!

Get Lost In The Twilight Of Jazz Fusionist Ikechi Onyenaka’s Latest Single, City Dreams - A&R Factory

Jazz and Blues fusionist Ikechi Onyenaka’s latest extended instrumental soundscape, City Dreams, eases you into the twilight grooves gently before the rhythms pick up funk around the smoky jazz timbre. With the next progression, City Dreams moves towards a stormy sax blues riff that rivals the jazz-punk frontman Pete Wareham’s pipes.

City Dreams: An Interview with Ikechi Onyenaka - Neotech Straps

There is nothing like starting a Friday morning with a cup of coffee cooling in your hand, awaiting the world premiere of Ikechi Onyenaka’s music video for his brand new single, City Dreams. In its introduction, ambient stardust scatters across the keyboard, accompanying quiet interjections from each instrumentalist, that swell and transform into the first climactic statement of the nine minute musical journey.

Interview: Ikechi Onyenaka – 808s & Jazz Breaks

Ikechi Onyenaka is a young voice in the Philadelphia music scene. A multi-instrumentalist, Ikechi is steeped in the tradition of Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, and more broadly a lineage of Black music. Born in the late-90s, Ikechi is a child of modern technology and the internet, as such, you’re as likely to catch him at any of Philadelphia’s jazz venues, as you are to catch him on his YouTube page. As a YouTuber, Ikechi has built a following of over 1,400 subscribers, posting his original music, cover videos and saxophone tutorials of everything from Lil Nas X’s Panini to Grover Washington Jr.’s Winelight.

On Tuesday, October 22nd, Ikechi will be playing a 3-hour set with his band at Chris’ Jazz Cafe in Center City, Philadelphia, for which I’ve had the privilege of learning Ikechi’s original music for the past month, and will be playing along side him (SO PULL UP — buy tickets here). In preparation for his show I talked to him about his original music, creating his own platform and digital presence via the internet, his influences, and more! Here’s our conversation:

Altoona student's love of music is heard throughout campus

ALTOONA, Pa. — Maybe you’ve seen him playing his saxophone around the pond on campus or at various student events. Maybe you’ve heard the sounds of his music floating throughout Misciagna or Cedar Residence Hall. Perhaps you were visiting campus and wondered who was making the melodies.

Some have dubbed the man behind the music the "Sax Guy," but his name is actually Ikechi Onyenaka, a sophomore from Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. He came to Penn State Altoona to pursue a degree in information sciences technology, but music is his true passion.
